Vurnerable Women Benefit (VWB) Programme

 

Under the VWB program, in every 2 (two) years or 24 months VWB cycle, selected poor women in 65 unions of 06 upazilas in Kushtia district are provided with food assistance as well as life skills development training and training services for sustainable income-generating activities through selected NGOs.

Mother and Child Assistance Programme

 

800/- per month to the selected beneficiaries as their own bank for a total of 36 months.

 

The application form, policy and other information are available in the office of the Deputy Director and the office of the Upazila Women Affairs Officer.

Women Training Program

 

Training is provided in 5 trades through 5 trainers. The trades are:
1. Modern tailoring science
2. Food processing
3. Beautification
4. Show-behind
5. Packet ready
 Besides, the trainees are imparted knowledge on various topics related to women development by Deputy Director, Program Officer and guest speakers.

Microcredit program for self-employment of women

 

After applying in the prescribed form, the beneficiaries are selected through the upazila committee. Loans are disbursed based on the type of work as per the policy.

Registration of Women's Voluntary Association

 

Registration is granted subject to fulfillment of prescribed conditions for registration of societies.

 

1. Application in prescribed form
2. Attested copy of National Identity Card of the members of the working committee of the association
3. Attested copy of the constitution of the society
4. Bank account number of the association
5. List of members of the association along with related documents
For application, government prescribed form filling, submission of treasury challan, on-site investigation if required and later registration of eligible societies and association registration guidelines are provided free of cost and currently online application is available.

Distressed Women and Children Relief Fund

 

One-time financial assistance for the education of poor destitute/sick/orphan/crippled/destitute/divorced/widow/financially distressed women and children, financially distressed meritorious and orphaned students/girls through selection in the district committee meeting in view of the white paper application. are sent to the head office and disbursement of aid is subject to receipt from the head office.

Prevention of violence against women and children

 

Union, Upazila, District Women and Child Abuse Prevention Committee and directly received complaint-appeals settlement measures are taken.

 

A white paper complaint can be submitted to the Union Parishad Chairman, Upazila Women Affairs Officer, Deputy Director, Women Affairs Directorate. Besides, the victim/victim can directly call the helpline desk 109 of the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs and complain and take service/action. On the other hand, the support of Women's Support Center located in 7 police stations of Kushtia district can be taken.
Necessary assistance is provided free of charge.

Bangladesh activities in pursuit of victory

 

5 categories namely- 1) Women who achieve economic success 2) Women who achieve success in the field of education and employment 3) Successful mother women 4) Women who have removed the horrors of torture and started life with new enthusiasm
5) Women who have made an outstanding contribution to the development of society. After receiving the information in the prescribed resume table, after being selected through the upazila committee and coming to the district, the district committee selects 5 candidates in 5 categories and sends their names to the department and the selected candidates at the upazila and district levels are felicitated with a commemoration on December 09 every year.

Those who have progressed from the grassroots level to the top will apply to the District/Upazila Women Affairs Officer through the Mayor/Chairman of the Municipal/Union Parishad. Winners are selected at the upazila and district levels after field scrutinizing the applications received in 5 categories.

Youth club establishment project

 

01. Kushtia Sadar Upazila 13 clubs
02. 10 clubs in Khoksa upazila

06. 14 clubs in Daulatpur upazila
The clubs are managed by field supervisors, gender promoters, music teachers, recitation teachers and karate instructors.

3. Teenagers in the age group of 10-19 years can become members of the clubs established by the respective unions.


Music, recitation and awareness training is provided to develop the awareness attitude of the teenagers through the youth club establishment project running in 65 unions and 5 municipalities of Kushtia district.

IGA Training Scheme

 

30 trainees are provided training in 02 trades through 02 trainers in each upazila. The trainees were made aware of various issues including socio-economic development of women by upazila women affairs officer and guest speakers.

Child day care center

 

Day care centers are being run in district towns as a safe haven for middle class and low income working mothers during their working hours. This day care center provides day care for children aged 6 months to 6 years including pre-primary education, physical and mental development. There is a capacity to serve 80 children.

* Application should be made in the prescribed form along with two copies of passport size photograph of each child and parent.
Application forms are available free of charge at the respective day-care centers.
One time admission fee and monthly fee:
One time 100 (one hundred) taka and monthly fee 100 (one hundred) taka for admission of children of working and working mothers.

Distribution of sewing machines for self employment of poor and destitute women

 

Following the application, the distribution of sewing machines is subject to the approval of the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs following the recommendation of the local member of parliament and sewing machines are also distributed on the occasion of Begum Fazilatun Necha Mujib Day on August 8 every year.
You have to apply on white paper.

 

Sewing machines are distributed after providing the necessary documents as per the conditions prescribed in the Government Allotment Order (GO).

Investigate/investigate complaints/cases received from local and court and send reports.

 

* In the case of receiving a direct application, a compromise is made after listening to the statements of both parties including witnesses. In case of non-co-operation of either party, advice is provided and assistance is given to bring legal aid or court cases under the Domestic Violence (Prevention and Protection) Act 2010.
* Regarding the petition received from the court, the report is sent to the concerned court after investigating/searching the plaintiff along with the witness.
